This fascinating shot is from a silent adventure film. Dan must have been a Buddhist in his other life, because he sees the world through circles. Remember the iris shot of the bird from A Bug's Life? How about the peephole shot of Anne Heche in Gus Van Sant's remake of Psycho? This above image fits into that motif. It all begins with a message in a bottle from a Harvard anthropologist. The message includes a map to a secret treasure, somewhere in Peru. A yachtsman and explorer finds the bottle, and plans an expedition to locate the treasure, and possibly rescue the author of the message. During the evening, the map is stolen from the explorer. His conspirators meet to organize their own expedition. Sound fascinating? Most assuredly! Give up?
